Copywriting Jobs: Do you have any control over choosing the topic?

When you are doing copywriting jobs at freelance sites, how much control do you have over the topics that are chosen for writing articles/content?

Do writers have any kind of control at all?

Are the buyers, the only one to choose the topic of articles/content that you will write?

The buyers are the ones who pay the money to writers: so I guess writers have to write only on the topics that buyers provide : ) Right ?

*Service-providers [*SP] do not have control over choosing topics [for most of the copywriting jobs].

However, before a SP accepts a job, he can ask the buyer about the topics on which he wants the content to be written. That way, SPs do have control over the topics on which they are willing to write.

Assume that a SP placed a bid on a project and contacted the buyer to give details about the topic/titles of articles that he needs. Buyer replies and gives the details: SP then finds the titles difficult to write: he can then either cancel his bid or can simply tell the buyer that he will accept the job.

In most of copywriting jobs, buyers will give all the titles for the articles they need.

However, there are some projects where buyers may ask the SP to suggest titles. However, buyer will tell the SP about the main topic on which he needs the content to be written. In such projects, SP first send his suggested titles to the buyer and he only starts to write on them when/if buyers accepts his suggested titles.

For some projects, buyers just give one main topic to the SP and ask him to write articles on different titles of his choice. For such projects, SP do not need the approval from the buyer for the chosen titles.

Then there are very few [almost zero : ) ] copywriting jobs where buyers may ask SP to write on Just Any topic/title. For such projects, buyers basically need some informative/useful content that they can add to his site or may be use it somewhere else.

Bottom line: As buyers are the ones who pay money to writers, therefore, they have all the rights to choose/select the titles on which writers will write content.
